Presentation of the results of the VLingS project to the Aromanian community in Belgrade

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, on the premises of the “Lunjina” Serbian-Aromanian Association in Belgrade, Annemarie Sorescu-Marinković, Principal Research Fellow of the Institute for Balkan Studies, SASA, and Mirjana Ćorković, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, presented the results of the project “Vulnerable languages ​​and linguistic varieties in Serbia” (VLingS), which was supported by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia between 2022 and 2025 within the IDEAS program. While Mirjana Ćorković, member of the VLingS project, gave a lecture on the Aromanian language today in Serbia, based on the research she conducted as part of the project, Annemarie Sorescu-Marinković, leader of the VLingS project, talked about the importance of preserving and revitalizing one’s mother tongue.
