Intangible cultural heritage and ethnic diversity – fieldwork in the Banat

Research fellows of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA participated in the conference “Intangible cultural heritage and ethnic diversity – fieldwork in the Banat”, organized by the Institute of Ethnography SASA and held in the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts on November 26, 2015. Dr. Biljana Sikimić, scientific advisor, presented the paper “The Banat Bulgarians: Possibilities for the Preservation of Language and Intangible Cultural Heritage”. Dr. Svetlana Ćirković, research associate, presented the paper “Anthropological and Linguistic Research of the Serbian Communities in Arad County in Romania”. Dr. Marija Mandić, research associate, presented the co-authored paper with Dr. Aleksandar Krel “Multilingualism between the First and the Second World War: Narratives of the Banat Germans”. Dr. Aleksandra Đurić Milovanović, research associate, presented the co-authored paper with Dr. Mircea Maran “Religion and Intangible Cultural Heritage: Research of the Religious Practices among the Romanians in the Banat”.
