Sixth National Conference of Byzantine Studies

At the Sixth National Conference of Byzantine Studies held in Belgrade on 18–20 June 2015 papers were submitted by three members of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA: Danica Popović, PhD: “The tombs of the rulers and heads of the church in medieval Serbia – a reassessment” and “The myron-exuding relics of St. Simeon Nemanja – cult aspect”; Boris Milosavljević, PhD: “Monarchy as a phenomenon of longue durée and the idea of the independent Serbian state”; and Marka Tomić Djurić, MA: “The Iconography of the Virgin in the Annunciation scene in Marko’s Monastery and its possible meanings”. The conference was organized by the Serbian Committee for Byzantine Studies and the Institute for Byzantine Studies, SASA.
