International scholarly conference on Vuk Karadžić

Marking one hundred and fifty years since the passing  of Vuk Karadžić, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts held an international scholarly conference “Vuk Stefanović Karadžić (1787-1864-2014)“, from the  4th until the 6th of December 2014. More than sixty local and international prominent individuals from scientific, educational and cultural institutions participated in the conference.   The associates of the Institute for Balkan studies SANU (Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts) had a leading role in the conference submitting the following papers: dr Mirjana Detelić( with coauthor dr Lidija Delić ): How to digitalise Vuk; dr Bojan Jovanović: Vuk’s establishment of the Serbian cultural remembrance; dr Ljubinko Radenković (who led one of the sessions during the conference): The significance of the work of Vuk Karadžić for the study of Serbian mythology; dr Biljana Sikimić, Anthropological- linguistic reading of Vuk’s ethnographic text: children’s games.
