Early Farming in Central Anatolia

15. Oct 2014.

British publishing company Archaeopress-Oxford has recently published a book by Dragana Filipović, research associate at the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA, entitled Early Farming in Central Anatolia: An archaeobotanical study of crop husbandry, animal diet and land use at Neolithic Çatalhöyük. The book derives from Dr Filipović’s doctoral dissertation completed at the University of Oxford in 2012 and presents new archaeobotanical data on the early- to mid-Neolithic life at the site of Çatalhöyük in Central Anatolia. The freshly produced data are used as a basis for investigations of different aspects of plant use, crop cultivation and animal husbandry at this long-lived and one of the earliest farming settlements in southwest Asia.
