Dr. Miroslav Marić at the Shanghai Archaeological Forum 2025

Miroslav Marić, Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA), participated for the second time, at the invitation of the Archaeological Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, in the Shanghai Archaeological Forum held from December 15 to 18 at Shanghai University.

During the forum, Dr. Marić delivered a lecture entitled “Identifying Construction Timber using AI: Idjoš Gradište Case Study”, with a special focus on the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology in the field of archaeological research and its application to the analysis of raw material selection for building structures during the Late Neolithic and the Vinča culture.
