Dr. Svetlana Ćirković delivered a lecture titled "Linguistic and Folkloristic Fieldwork research in the 21st century: where we started and how far we have come"

On November 6 2025, Svetlana Ćirković, principal research fellow at the SASA Institute for Balkan Studies, delivered a lecture titled Linguistic and Folkloristic Fieldwork research in the 21st century: where we started and how far we have come at the SASA Branch in Niš. The lecture was organized within the SASA Branch in Niš project О-20-18 Field research on the oral tradition of southeastern Serbia, coordinated by Academician Ljubinko Radenković and led by Professor Danijela Popović Nikolić.

The lecture aimed at presenting the development of fieldwork methodology from the end of the 20th century to the most current linguistic fieldwork research, which was carried out by the linguists of the SASA Institute for Balkan Studies. Svetlana Ćirković spoke about the application of traditional fieldwork questionnaires, and drew special attention to the teamwork in creating a list of topics for discussion within the project Vulnerable Languages ​​and Linguistic Varieties in Serbia, which was funded from 2022 to 2025 by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.
