Fifth World Conference on Pluricentric Languages and their Non-Dominant Varieties, Mainz (Germany), 13-16 July 2017

Annemarie Sorescu Marinković, PhD, senior research fellow of the Institute for Balkan Studies, took part in the Fifth World Conference on Pluricentric Languages and their Non- Dominant Varieties, held in Mainz between 13-16 July 2017. The conference was organized by the University “Johannes Gutenberg” in Mainz. Annemarie Sorescu Marinković, together with Monica Huţanu from the University of Belgrade, delivered an oral presentation entitled Non-dominant varieties of Romanian in Serbia: the case of funeral inscriptions in Vojvodina and Eastern Serbia. The conference was attended by linguists and sociolinguists from Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, and the two researchers from Belgrade were invited to become members of the working group on pluricentric languages, as specialists for Romanian.
